Life as We Know It

Genre- Comedy/Drama
Staring Josh Duhamel as Eric Messer the exact opposite of a family man and Katherine Heigl  as Holly Berenson one of those always a bridesmaid never a bride type.

Mainstream : This film shows how most people would react to inheriting the responsibilities of parents because close friends had recently passed away. Although the premise may seem impractical Duhamel and Heigl both showed a great range of emotions from exception to fear. Overall it's a 6.8 out of 10.

Love and Other Drugs

Genre- Romance/ Comedy/ Drama
Staring Jake Gyllenhaal as Jamie Randall the "under" achiever in his family that could probably sell milk to a cow,  Anne Hathaway as Maggie Murdock a free spirited girl, Oliver Platt as Bruce Winston, and Josh Gad as Josh Randall.

Mainstream : Surprisingly this romantic comedy has depth to it. Instead of the average date night movie, Love and Other Drugs challenges the dynamics of the male female relationship. Not only is it about two people falling in love but about how extenuating circumstances can put strain on any relationship. Overall it's a 6.5 out of 10.

Waiting for 'Superman'

Genre- Documentary

Mainstream : This Documentary shows just how amiss the public education system has become across America.I found it to be eye opening. I knew America was not one of the leading nations in education but I did not know that we were one of the last. As documentaries go it's an 8 out of 10.

127 Hours

Genre- Adventure/Drama
Staring James Franco As Aron Ralston, a veteran Mountain climber that gets his arm lodged between a rock and a hard place. The movie chronicles his 127 hour journey while he struggles for his life.

Mainstream : When I first heard what this movie was about, I thought great another Open Water!(extreme sarcasm) To my surprise it was nothing like Open Water but instead it was an endearing story of a mans struggle to keep his spirits up while death stares him dead in the eye. Overall this film is a 7 out of 10.

The King's Speech

Genre- Biography/Drama/History
Staring Colin Firth as King George VI, Geoffrey Rush as the eccentric Speech therapist, and Helena Bonham Carter as  Queen Elizabeth.

Mainstream : No one could of done a better job then Colin Firth did displaying the frustration a speech impediment has on a person let alone the king of a nation. Every time he spoke I felt as if I was watching someone drowned in a sea of words. Colin Firth's anguish mixed in with Geoffry Rush's eccentric brashness is what really made this movie amazing. Although I found Helena Bonham Carter's performance less then mediocre I would still rate this film a 7.5 out of 10.
